There's just something about autumn that, for me, is unlike any other time of the year. Football, basketball, hot chocolate, homemade soups, pumpkin pies, jack-o-lanterns, cooler weather, the anticipation of family holidays around the corner, Halloween candy, corn mazes, children's laughter, caramel apples, turkey and dressing, rainfall, fallen leaves, hay rides, one more blanket added to the bed, and sweet potatoes are just a few of the things that come to mind. It seems to be a time for my soul to rejuvenate itself. The summer heat has disappeared, and new energy fills my spirit.
